Post An Awesome Thing, this YUI.

I can't get over how fantastic Yahoo's YUI library is. I've been paying with it and plan to use it alot in the future for web design and web components. you can find out about it here:
http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/

The YUI Library is free, licenced under BSD license.
What I like about it is that is does a great job employing AJAX technology in its Javascript files to make it really easy to do awesome things. There's so much in it, it takes weeks to get familar with all you can do with it.

If you think javascript isn't much of a big deal.. you ought see how object oriented it can be and how much is possible with it these days when married to CSS and AJAX techniques. Check out their Javascript coding in that library!

All of its neat. I'm going to use the connection manager in my key change pages to ajaxify the response. Ive already built the page for it: http://romanware.com/newSerial.html (customers .. don't use this yet until I have the new serial generator settled uopn). Notice how the only thing that updates on that page is the little section above the button. Thats AJAX. Yea, I'm all excited about a little ajax.. but really it is very cool because a databse is being queried when the fields are all set. The resize stuff is sweet.. Hell its all great. I can spend hrs reading it over and testing the stuff on ideas I have. Its definitely going to all show up in my site coming soon. Like one real cool thing using the connection manager to send an async xmlhttprequest to a php page that then does a database query and returns the data. I've also played with the datatable and this connection manager to populate a datatable from a mysql database..its nice and can have pagination and sorting... My next trick will be to have update popups the fields in the table to do changes and have them sent back to the database the same way.. that will be nice. And all of it is AJAXified.

THis link is for adding the new serial to the new database..BUT the new serial generator is yet to be officially released because of problems like demon is having. I'll be releasing the new serial generator monday and then soon after re opening the old serial change page for the old serial.

I used this http://romanware.com/newserialgen.zip and it worked for me, the one you'll releasing on Monday will still generate the same serial right?

as I mentioned above I added my new serial to your database already this morning.

NO.. the serial will be different. I posted the new generator already at the top of the forum. Wait for further instructions on when to add it to the new database. You won't be able to until I clear the serial you added already.

By the Way... This is NOT the thread for this discussion.
